Oakington Village Water Pump - (2 of 3)
Another village water pump photo, this time the one which stood on the corner of High Street and Water Lane.
The house on the far left is long gone, but the extension to the right was Neal's Butchers. The old village ire station can just be seen this side of Mafekin Cottages. Finally the Bake House can be seen with it's tall chimney and Lodge Barn in the background.
Many thanks to Bob Dean for his information on Westwick Station Cottages, featured last month. We hope to have a meeting for all those interested in village history, in March. The date will be conirmed in next month's newsletter. If you are interested please get in touch on 237444 or nick.harrison@oakingtonplane.co.uk
